BYU vs. Colorado State Preview

This game against Colorado State feels a little different to me. I mean, usually before a BYU game I get a small nervous feeling in my tummy that BYU just might lose. I get this feeling even before easy games which BYU is heavily favored--yes, I even had this nervous feeling before the Eastern Washington game. My wife Jessica will attest that it wasn't until Corby Hodgkiss got that pick-six that I turned to her and told her that my worries were gone.

I don't have that feeling against Colorado State. I dunno why, either. I have absolute confidence that BYU is just going to steamroll the Rams. I'd be surprised if the win is by fewer than 21 points. BYU is just going to dominate from the get-go. I have no doubt in my mind.

Max Hall will be on the mark. Dennis Pitta will redeem himself with some big catches (after all those easy drops against EWU). Harvey Unga will get his 100 yards in the first half before he is spelled by Fui Vakapuna in the second half. Austin Collie will have a few receptions. The defense won't allow much. Backup quarterback Brendan Gaskins will play the entire fourth quarter, completing zero passes on zero attempts. And their Human Victory Cigar (or I guess at BYU it would be the Human Ice Cream Sundae), Wayne Latu will get two carries for three yards at the very end of the game.

My prediction:

Final Score: BYU 55, CSU 16
Player of the Game: Max Hall (29-of-36 passing, 378 yards, 3 TD, 1 INT).
National Attention: None.
