Quick thoughts and predictions

I need to apologize that I haven't had the time between family, work, and school to post extravagant predictions lately. I guess with the MBA program I'm in, it'll only get worse. Luckily, I have a few days off on the Thanksgiving break that I can maybe post a good BYU-Utah prediction.

My picks for tomorrow:

BYU 37, Tulsa 27. It'll be a close one, and BYU won't put the game away until three minutes remaining in the game when Max Hall completes a 65-yard touchdown pass to Austin Collie to clinch victory. Harvey Unga will be the player of the game with over 200 all-purpose yards. BYU will have five touchdowns (2 by Unga, 1 by Pitta, 1 by George, and 1 by Collie), a missed extra point, and a field goal.

UCLA 35, Utah 21. As usual, everyone is jumping off the Ute bandwagon while things are down, thinking this will be a monstrous upset. But Utah will play it closer than expected. Tommy Grady will play with more confidence after last week's fourth-quarter rally (even though it fell short because the offensive line and running backs stink). But Utah's receivers will surprise the bruins with their quickness, and Utah will lead 21-20 at the break. But the wheels will come off the Ute Machine when Tommy Grady is knocked out for the season early in the third quarter with a torn Achilles. And instead of playing third-string quarterback Chad Manis, Whittingham will make a huge blunder and insert Brian Johnson, still recovering from his separated shoulder. Johnson will struggle all game long, and the Utes will be written off for good when Johnson's season is ended late in the fourth quarter with a broken collarbone and re-separation of the shoulder.

Oklahoma 78, Utah State 13. It will be 78-0 early in the third quarter. That's all you need to know about this game. Go Agriculturalists!
