As you can see, Central Michigan tops the Mid American Conference (#55 nationally). Their mascot is the Chippewa, but unlike Arkansas State they have decided to keep their racist moniker. Perhaps the university's biggest contribution to college athletics was producing two of the most incredible sports announcers of all time--Dick Enberg and Kevin Graham (seen here at the right of a very intimidating Gordon Monson).

I was also happy to see that East Carolina fans finally have some bragging rights over their chiefest of rivals--the tar heels of North Carolina. The Pirates are currently ranked 13 spots better. Maybe if Pee Dee the Pirate and company can pillage a few victories this season, we'll try to figure out where the mythical state of East Carolina is located. I searched all over the maps of the Eastern seaboard, looking eastward of North and South Carolina. I can't seem to find it.
